His mission: to uncover secrets such as remote deserts and obscure cultures, and document them using new developments in technology.
In 2008, Steinmetz published a book titled African Air, which is a stunning portfolio of photographs he took by flying in a motorized paraglider high above fourteen countries throughout the continent.
